SNOREPLASTY

What are You Putting Your Family Through? Find Relief from Snoring with Capitol Breathe Free

Have you heard complaints about your snoring? Is your snoring keeping your family awake at night?

Snoring is a common issue. Snoring affects 90 million Americans each year and impacts nearly half of those on a regular basis (1). Snoring is a unique medical issue that can harm others, even if its impact on your health is minimal. The sounds coming from your mouth at night can interrupt your partner’s sleep, your family’s sleep, and your own, leading to physical and mental issues.

Injection snoreplasty can reduce or eliminate snoring, providing you and your family with long-term relief. Capitol Breathe Free Sinus & Allergy Centers specialize in the minimally invasive procedure, and can help you determine if snoreplasty is the best way to rid you of the snoring that may be disrupting your sleep, health, and family.

The Risks of Allowing Snoring to Run Rampant in Your Life

How long have you dealt with snoring? When snoring is prevalent in your life, you may experience one or several of the following troubling issues:

  • Sleep loss
  • Disrupted sleep for your spouse or family members
  • Fatigue
  • Frequent doctor and pharmacy visits
  • Lack of motivation
  • Lowered productivity
  • Strained relationships
  • Reduction in energy

Not only are these issues troubling, snoring can also be a sign of a more serious health issue.

Is your snoring due to a more serious health issue?

When paired with additional symptoms, frequent snoring can signal that a serious issue, including obstructive sleep apnea, may be present. If you have any of the following symptoms, in addition to snoring, we recommend scheduling an appointment with your ENT immediately:

  • Pauses in breathing at night
  • Headaches
  • Sore throat
  • Elevated blood pressure
  • Chest pain
  • Restlessness
Snoring can indicate further health problems

Introducing injection snoreplasty

Injection snoreplasty is a minimally invasive, relatively painless treatment for snoring. Developed in 2000, injection snoreplasty has quickly become a popular non-surgery treatment for snoring.

How Injection Snoreplasty Works

In an injection snoreplasty procedure, the upper palate is numbed with topical anesthetic. Next, the top of the mouth is injected with a hardening agent. A small blister develops, which then hardens. The hardened blister becomes scar tissue. As a result, snoring may be eliminated or reduced through decreasing throat tissue vibration, called palatal flutter. The procedure, completed in-office, takes a total of approximately 30 minutes.

Why Choose Minimally Invasive Procedures to Alleviate Your Snoring?

Surgery is often a recommended procedure to treat snoring and other sinus issues, but is it the right course of action for you? Surgery comes with extended healing requirements, pain, hospital stays, and additional risks.

Injection snoreplasty is a minimally invasive procedure. A minimally invasive procedure is one in which a physician or surgeon uses a technique and/or technology to minimize harm to the body. These procedures, due to avoiding harm to the body, often come with reduced pain and discomfort, shorter hospital stays if a stay is needed, and a faster recovery.

Take a break from snoring: relief in 6 steps

If you are ready to take a break from snoring and its impact on your life, here are the 6 steps to take:

  • Step #1: Schedule your consultation with Capitol Breathe Free.
  • Step #2: At your consultation, we will explore your condition and discuss potential treatments, including injection snoreplasty.
  • Step #3: Testing. If a sleep study is recommended, you will be supplied with a device to wear at home during a night of sleep. A CT Scan may also be recommended.
  • Step #4: Your test results will be analyzed and discussed with you, and a treatment plan will be developed.
  • Step #5: Snoreplasty may be recommended if your test results show that your snoring is caused by blocked sinus pathways. If this treatment option is agreed upon, we will schedule your in-office injection snoreplasty procedure.
  • Step #6: Injection snoreplasty will be completed in the Capitol Breathe Free office, aided by anesthetic. You will be free to leave once the procedure is completed.
